I am the Solution

“Her heart may be guarded. She may be hesitant when it comes to love, but the woman with the highest wall built in front of her heart is often deserving of the greatest love.” – R.H. Sin

Not everyone suffers from having a guarded heart, but I sure do. To be honest this is one of the biggest obstacles I struggle with. I love and dislike that my heart is guarded. I love it because it is very easy for me to remove people or things with no purpose in my life. I dislike it because it makes me guarded with the people I love the most. I can give out all of my love in a healthy way, but will not accept love from people unless it is on my terms.

Example: if Thomas wants to hug or kiss me and I don’t want him to at that moment I tell him not to touch me. I put a rejection stamp on his heart. To be honest it hurts me that I do that to him because he would never reject me.

Blossoms, you know I love opening up with all of you. I love to face my truths and I am grateful I have Roses and Champagne to do so.

After speaking with all the wonderful women in my life and getting their feedback on being guarded I have come to a realization.

I am going tear my wall down and accept the love from my loved ones.

Picture this; there is a line down the middle I am on one side my loved ones are on the other. Every single person on the other side is waiting for me to cross over and love me deeply. I am going to cross over and accept the love. I want the love, but I have had my guard up for as long as I could remember (very young age) that I do not know what it is like not to have it up. The longer I keep the waiting, the longer I stay put, the sooner they all walk away.

Why let them walk away when I am the solution? What is the worst that could happen?

Some people will enter in and break something, but I am now strong enough to understand that those people are no longer purposeful.

My wall is coming down in 2018. I know by doing this, only great things will come my way.

The Meaning Behind My Blog Name

Do you ever wonder how people come up with their Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Blog names?

I always do and I thought why not share with all of you the meaning behind Roses & Champagne.

When I was thinking of a blog name I knew I wanted it to be chic and feminine. I knew I was going to be sharing self-loving and lifestyle posts.

I wanted the name to represent me but in a different way.

After a lot of thinking and contemplating I came up with Roses and Champagne.

Roses (rose) represents me due to a message I received when I was going through a dark path on my journey.

As I explained in my post “Letting go is hard!” I was speaking with a woman Angela. Angela gave me the following message

“I see a rose and a trashcan. The rose is you and it is closed very tight. The trashcan is for you to let go of everything and put it in the trashcan. When you start doing that; you/your rose will start to open.”

That message stays with me daily and just makes me feel amazing knowing how much I have blossomed.

Also, another message the Universe provided me with is “Truth and Roses have thorns about them – Henry David Thoreau”

The message was on a shirt that I saw shopping. I immediately thought wow that is deep. The crazy thing is I saw this message a little after receiving the message from Angela. Yes, roses now mean so much to me.

Champagne I feel also represents me. Well… it’s my all-time favorite alcoholic drink. I feel it represents me because once you get to know me I have such a bubbly personality.

I started playing with the words champagne and rose. I loved the feminine vibe Roses and Champagne sounded so that is where we have come from.

Many of my family members ask why I address my readers as Blossoms. Here is the reason why.

Every day we grow into the people we are meant to be. We grow through everything we go through; the good and the bad.

I strongly believe we all grow at different rates.

Therefore I love calling my readers Blossoms because we are all blossoming into who we are.

Pour yourself a glass of champagne and blossom with me.

    Learn Your 7 Chakras!

I can feel it deep in my bones this year is going to be the year of growth for so many of you.

Growth in all different aspects of your life. Love, Wealth, Health, Happiness, and whatever else you are seeking.

As we are in 2018, if you have not already taken time to write down your goals for this year, please do so.

Why? Because when you write down your goals you tend to remember them more.

You are more likely to achieve your goals. Also, you can reflect back and see what you have accomplished.

For me this year one of my goals is to heal and unblock a few of my Chakras.

Some of you may or may not know about the Chakras within your body.

You have 7 Energy Chakras in your body.

    6.Third Eye

All of these energies flow through your body evenly. When a Chakra/Energy is blocked it can interrupt the energy flow process causing physical, mental, and emotional distress. *Disclaimer: I am not a Doctor I just share what I believe and resonate with.*

    1.Root Chakra

    • Your Root Chakra is located in your tailbone.
    • It provides security, survival, and overall makes you grounded.
      • Grounded as in it makes you feel safe and strong.
    • When the energy is blocked it can leave you feeling anxious and hopeless.
    • To unblock/heal you can add the color red to your everyday life as red is the associated color.
    • You can eat red food such as berries.
    • You can wear a Garnet Stone.
    • You can say your affirmations “I am centered and grounded. I am eternally safe.”

    2.Sacral Chakra

    • Your Sacral Chakra is located in your pelvis.
    • It provides creativity, confidence, and sexuality.
    • When the energy is blocked it can leave you feeling lonely and emotionally unbalanced.
    • To unlock/heal you can add the color orange to your everyday life as orange is the associated color.
    •  You can eat orange foods.
    • Energize your space with the color orange.
    • You can say your affirmations “I am creative. I am confident in everything I do. I am open to touch.”

    3.Solar Chakra

    • Your Solar Chakra is located under your ribs and in the diaphragm.
      • It is connected to your digestive system.
    • It provides a sense of power and helps regulate your fears.
    • When the energy is blocked it can cause eating disorders, fears, and loss of control.
    • To unblock/heal you can add the color yellow to your everyday life as yellow is the associated color.
    • You can add lemon to your water.
    • You can say your affirmations “I am healthy. I am not afraid. I can choose in any situation.”

    4.Heart Chakra

    • Your Heart Chakra is located in the center of your chest around the heart area.
    • It provides compassion, connection, and love.
    • When the energy is blocked it can cause disconnections and rejections.
    • To unblock/heal you can add the color green to your everyday life as green is the associated color.
    • You can eat your green vegetables ( it’s important to do so anyway 😉 )
    • You can wear the stone, Jade.
    • You can say your affirmations “I am kind to myself. I listen to my heart. I love myself and others.”

    5.Throat Chakra

    • Your Throat Chakra is located in your throat.
    • It provides leadership, expression, and communication.
    • When the energy is blocked it can cause insecurity and anxiety.
    • To unblock/heal you can add the color blue to your everyday life as blue is the associated color.
    • You can eat blueberries.
    • You can connect with the ocean. Visit the ocean more. Hang photos of the ocean.
    • You can wear the stone, Lapis Lazuli.
    • You can say your affirmations “I speak for myself. My voice is strong. My voice is clear. I communicate my feelings with ease.”

    6.Third Eye Chakra

    • Your Third Eye Chakra is located in between your eyebrows.
    • It provides intuitions, thoughts, and dreams.
    • When the energy is blocked it can cause judgment, lack of sleep, and lack of intuition.
    • To unblock/heal you can add the color indigo to your everyday life as indigo is the associated color.
    • You can wear the stone, Azurite.
      • It is crazy to me because I know my Third Eye needs healing.
      • I went to a Crystal Expo back in August and every booth that had Azurite my eyes were drawn to it.
      • My Third Eye was basically saying we need that stone.
      • The woman I was with was telling me you need this for a reason.
      • Azurite is the darker blue stone.
    • You can say your affirmations “I see and think clearly. I trust my intuition. I know the answer.”

    7.Crown Chakra

    • Your Crown Chakra is located at the crown of your head.
    • It provides consciousness, wisdom, spirituality, imagination.
    • When the energy is blocked it can cause depression, confusion, and disconnection.
    • To unblock/heal you can add the color violet to your everyday life as violet is the associated color.
    • You can wear the stone, Amethyst.
    • You can say your affirmations “I am enlightened. I am at peace. I am light. I am me.”

If you feel some of your Chakras Energies are blocked, try unblocking. If you need to start to add the color to your life paint your nails that color, wear that color in your clothing, add it to your home decor.

Unblocking your Chakras are very important. It allows the natural energies to flow and allows you to live a happy positive lifestyle.

    New Product: Dermaclara

Hey Blossoms, Welcome Back to the blog!

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving & Mini Break 🙂

This past week I received a new product that reduces the appearance of stretch marks, lines, aging skin, scars, and more!

There are 3 easy steps to this.

    Step 1: Cleanse with Claraprep

You want to dispense the Claraprep into the palm of your hands to create a lather.

You then cleanse the desired treatment area, rinse, and pat dry.

    Step 2: Treat with Clarafuse

Clarafuse comes in a tray which you remove and then peel it away from its protective backing.

You carefully apply the sticky side of the Clarafuse to the treatment area, try your best to avoid creating air bubbles.

Leave it on the treatment area for up to nine hours or overnight.

This can be washed with warm water and is reusable for up to 30 days depending on the skin.

Note: You want to try to keep it away from humidity, sweat, dust, and debris. Replace the Clarafuse once adhesiveness wears off.

Step 3: Enhance Results with Claraline

Dispense the Claraline onto the palms of your hands.

Apply it to the treatment areas as needed after following the two steps above.

I will be using this product on my hips as I have those hip stretch marks.

To all my Mommy friends and friends who want to reduce stretch marks, lines, aging skin, and scars click here to read more and shop.

    Ipsy Glam Bag: November

I cannot believe Thanksgiving is this Thursday, I am so excited.

Getting to eat amazing food…who doesn’t get excited about that? This year is going to be very different for me.

This is the first year of being a plant-based eater. We shall see how this goes!

I am also excited because you get to spend the day with a majority of your Family and I love great quality family time. It gives me warmth and a sense of peace.

With that being said let me share with you the 5 products I received in my ipsy Glam Bag this month.

I’ve had ipsy for a little over a year now and haven’t cancelled the monthly subscription, that says something 😉

Some of you may know about ipsy, some of you may not. Let me give you the 411 really quick.

Ipsy is $10 a month and you receive a Glam Bag that comes with 5 different products.

Ipsy was created to inspire the uniqueness and creativity for everyone in their own way.

Every month you receive a DIFFERENT Glam Bag with a positive meaningful message.

This month I received a blue glam bag.

What I love most about these bags are how they can be used for many different things. Travel, gifts, and an extra pouch for your purse/backpack.

    Crown Brush

This brush is so soft and perfect for highlighting or blush. I love receiving brushes in my glam bags as brushes can get expensive.

    100% Pure Argan Oil

This oil is amazing and not to mention it is 100% pure, 100% organic, 100% natural. This heaven in a bottle can be used so many different ways. You can use it as a face/hand moisturizer and it does not leave you feeling greasy. You can also use it in your hair for split ends & hydration.

I have never tried a cream highlighter and I think I was waiting to try this one! This color is beautiful – glows perfectly on the skin.

    They’re Real Mascara

Everything you want in Mascara is here! Lengthens, volumizes, and separates ! I am in love with Mascara I feel Mascara is the only thing I am good at when applying makeup. Maybe because it’s the first thing I learned in High School from my friend Kimberly – who is now a MUA and a Certified Esthetician. She helps me so much with SKIN CARE & MAKE UP! Her IG is (here) check her out!

    Tarte Blush

I am also a blush lover! I feel blush just makes your face look so pretty. Your face turns elegant & soft when wearing blush. I love the name of this blush, it is called Fiesty. When I was showing Thomas this and told him the name he said “oh fiesty.. just like you” 😉 “FUN FACT: It’s made with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon river.”

Remember how I said every month you receive a positive meaningful message? Well, this month the message was ALL YOU. Ipsy wrote The way we see it, November is a time to reflect on what matters most. For us, what matters most is you.”  This month they are spotlighting 5 real ispsters that do not have a large Instagram Following or Youtube Credentials, ipsters who just express themselves every day.

Blossoms, please leave a comment below on what matters most to you. What are you grateful for?

It can something big or something small, just take a moment to reflect and share it.

    Natural Curly Hair

Earlier this week I put a poll on my Instagram Story asking if you wanted to see how I achieve my natural curls.
100% of you said yes! I asked, you answered, and now I am delivering!
So here it is from the products I use and the way I style my hair.
After washing my hair using the Coconut Curls Shampoo and Conditioner by OGX Beauty I then spray It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-in Conditioner throughout my hair and let it soak in for a few minutes.  Then it is time to brush out my hair.
As I have curly hair it is always tangled and needs to be brushed thoroughly. I do not know why ninjas have to fight in my hair.

I love this shampoo and conditioner as it was created for curly hair. I feel it has helped so much with strengthening my hair and also with the growth. *Not tested on animals*

This is a must-have in my book. Spraying this in my hair before brushing out my knots helps tremendously. If I run out and do not have it, it takes FOREVER to de-tangle my hair. To be honest using this is like having little fairies in your hair detangling each strand after the ninjas destroy it. I recommend this for all hair types as it is a leave-in conditioner and helps keeps your hair hydrated.

    *Not tested on animals*

Now it is time to define the curls. I use the Defining Cream by OGX Beauty. I use this cream instead of a gel I feel it is much healthier on the hair. Now to apply this you want to scrunch your hair. Scrunching your hair is helping shape the curl.  In the past, I used the SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie but I feel it was too thick for my hair. It is such a great product but I feel it works better on thicker hair. I gave it to my sister as she has more ethnic hair.

Once the cream is in then you want to use a blow dryer with a diffuser head, this is important. It is more important to apply a heat protectant spray before using the blow dryer; any spray works. After blow-drying, my hair is fluffy and curly.

Once my hair is blown dry I then apply PYT Argan Oil. The smell, texture, and shine it provides is amazing. I was actually gifted this from my MUA Friend Kimberly. I really wish there was a better way to describe the way something smells because the smell of this oil is amazing. I know a lot of people get worried about applying oil to their hair because they do not want it to get greasy, but this oil is a non-greasy. I recommend this as well.

    *Not tested on animals*

SO…. here it is Blossoms how I tame my natural curls. What are some ways you tame your mane? Let me know below.

    PS: have a great weekend

    Rainy Humid Day Outfit

    Hello, My Blossoms!

    How is your Monday going?

I had the day off due to Columbus Day. Did you have to work or go to school today?

As our attire changes for the seasons I wanted to share with you an outfit for those Autumn Rainy-Humid Days. I don’t know about you, but its very hard finding an outfit you can wear to stay cool, but also comfortable in the rain.

In this look, I am wearing Vintage Jean Shorts from GAP. I actually found these during a thrift store shopping day. I have had these shorts for MANY years; they become more distressed with each wash and I love the look of them. Check out different style shorts (here).

The white bodysuit is from Forever21. I do not see it on the website, but there are similar ones (here, here, and here).

The black blazer I have had for many years as well, I do not remember where it is from. You can find many different style blazers (here).

The booties are a very recent purchase from Boohoo. It was the first time I shopped at their store. These booties are so comfy I was very shocked. You can find them (here). I feel we all need a statement bootie for this season.

What are some ways you dress for humid-rainy days? Let me know if the comments below.

    Fall Decor

    Happy Sunday Blossoms!

Who’s ready for Sunday Football? To all my Patriot fans out there, let’s hope they bring their A-Game today!

As Friday (9/22) is the first day of Fall I decorated the apartment this weekend and I wanted to share with you what I did.

In our apartment, we have the dark brown border trim which makes it feel a little darker therefore, I wanted to keep the decor simple & bright. I didn’t want to use dark elements to darken our place even more.

I decorated the living room and dining room.

    Living Room

I found the Chair on the mobile app: OfferUp | Blanket: Marshalls Pillow: Target (last year) | Pumpkin Sign: Marshalls (last year) | Fake Plant: Wal-Mart (last year)

Can I just tell you how amazing this smells? If you are ever near a bath and body works go smell the sent Sensual Amber. That is how this candle smells.

Table Tray, Candles, Velvet Pumpkin, Buddha: Marshalls | Fake Flowers: Dollar Tree | Glass Vase: is a recycled glass of juice.

    Dining Room

Table Runner: TJMaxx (last year) | Pumpkins: Target | Glass Vase: it is actually a fruit dish that my Grandmother let me borrow. | Popurri: I found a small bag from Marshalls and then at Shaws they have a bag of cinnamon pinecones for $5

Wreath: Wallmart (last year) | Bar Cart: IKEA (DIY Project)

I am ready for Fall, is anyone else? Fuzzy Socks, Candles, Hotcoco, Pumpkins! The fashion; wearing different layers of clothing!
